The Painted Secret

"The Painted Secret" is the second part of the Barbaros' Castle area

Overview[]

The stage takes place on a 2-story art gallery, with multiple paintings that Zack can interact with. On the bottom floor, once can find a pedestal for placing Gold Fragments similar to a Treasure Chest, as well as 3 pedestals holding one Gold Fragment and 2 Eerie Pictures and the painting of an Old Broom.

One can climb a small set of stairs to find three paintings: One with a moon obscured by clouds at the left, another of a door with a lock at the middle and a painting showing the bottom of a tree.

On the upper floor, one can find 5 paintings in clockwise order: One of a well, another of an underwater cave with Gulppy's eyes, a big one depicting an Old Man pulling a rope (Whenever he sees Zack, he will pull down the rope which activates a trapdoor that sends Zack to the first floor, another one depicting the upper part of the tree seen in the first floor painting and a rightmost painting depicting a door that connects to the painting in the bottom floor.

Walkthrough[]

As soon as you begin the Stage, place the Gold Fragment on the bottom pedestal
Examine the Old Broom painting to get the Old Broom from it
Dust off the central painting of the door
Do the same with the leftmost painting to sweep away the clouds and reveal the moon
Place the Eerie Picture (the one holding a key) under the moonlight to get the Castle Key
Use the Castle Key to open the door painting, enter it to get to the second floor (remember to pick up the Old Broom first)
Examine the tree painting, use the back of the Old Broom to hit the Gold Fragment and knock it down to the first floor, the painting of the tree in the bottom floor will spat out a dark purple ink
Attempt to go the right of the second floor, the Old Man painting will activate the trapdoor and send you to the first floor instead
Pick up the Gold Fragment and place it on the bottom pedestal
Use the Old Broom on the ink to get the Paint Broom
Use the Paint Broom to blind the Old Man painting
Examine the leftmost painting, it will fall to the floor, allowing you to go to the first floor (You cannot use the door you entered through)
Pick up the Gold Faucet from the painting next to the Moon painting
Place the Gold Faucet on the underwater cave painting to drain it, which will allow you to pick up the last Gold Fragment
Place the last Gold Fragment to create the Treasure Chest
Exorcise the Clinging Curse to get the Groll Anchor

If Zack places the wrong Eerie Picture (The one that doesn't hold the Castle Key) under the moonlight, a ghost of Barbaros's Henchmen will pop out of the painting and haunt Zack
If Zack attempts to pick up the Gold Fragment in the Gulppy painting without draining it first, Gulppy will come out of the painting and devour Zack
